Heida 2018
Heida or Paien was first planted in the 16th century and is otherwise known as Savagnin Blanc outside of the Valais (most widely planted in the French region of the Jura). It is quite unique in Switzerland and is grown in the higher elevations of what is known as the “upper” Valais. Heida displays a richness of aromas that are reminiscent of exotic fruit and a touch of citrus. It typically always has an underpinning of acidity and vivacity and can be consumed young or with a few years of cellar aging.
This wine is vinified in concrete tanks and does not undergo malolactic fermentation.
