Producer Profile
Husband and wife Pierre and Mireille Mann both hail from wine-making families in Alsace, but chose to go their own way and founded a restaurant in the beautiful Alsace town of Colmar. 10 years on, in 2003, they felt the call of the vineyard again and decided to return to their heritage and make their own wines however in a very different region: in Fitou, Languedoc, South of France. It’s this “return to source” after which their Fitou “Retour aux Sources” is named.
Grape
Macabeo is a white grape variety that thrives in warm climantes and will be found along the Mediterranean coast. It is most famously known as one of the three grape varieties used to make Cava (Spain's traditional method sparkling wine). As a still white wine it produces light to medium body with restrained, savoury aromas with mdoerate acidity. Ideal for those who prefer more subtle styles of wine.
