Adriatic Wines

The Adriatic Sea is part of the Mediterranean

separating Italy from the Balkan peninsula. While Mediterranean wine regions are widely admired- immediately recognized and appreciated for their power, and ripe fruit characteristics, there is a lesser-known corner of the Med that is highly under-rated and is worth exploring. The Adriatic coasts comprises Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia. All of these countries produce interesting wines , but this month our focus is on Slovenia, Croatia, and the Adriatic side of Italy.
